If you’ve been thinking about having your eyebrows tattooed but aren’t sure which technique is right for you, you’re not alone. With so many names floating around, it can feel overwhelming trying to make the right choice — especially if it’s your first time. In this post, I’ll walk you through the brow tattooing styles I offer at Cosmetique Tattooing, who each one is best suited for, and what the healing process involves so you know exactly what to expect.
The Brow Tattooing Styles I Offer
All of my brow tattoo techniques are customised to suit your face shape, skin type, and personal preferences. No cookie-cutter shapes or overly bold brows here — just soft, beautiful enhancements that complement you.
Soft Ombré Brows
Soft ombré brows create a delicate, powdery finish. The fronts of the brows are kept lighter and fade into a soft definition toward the tails. This technique mimics the look of brow powder and gives a polished but natural effect.
Best suited to:
✅ Oily or mature skin
✅ Those who love a softly defined shape
✅ Clients who regularly tint or pencil in their brows
Ombré Brows (Full Shading)
This technique gives a more structured, filled-in look from front to tail — but still soft and gradient, never blocky. It’s perfect for clients who like a bit more drama and density in their brows but still want to avoid harsh lines.
Best suited to:
✅ All skin types
✅ Clients who like a makeup-ready brow
✅ Those who prefer a bolder, more defined look
Nano Combination Brows
This is the most advanced technique I offer. It combines delicate machine-created hair strokes at the front of the brow (nano strokes) with soft shading through the midsection and tail. It gives the illusion of fuller brows while keeping the fronts natural.
Best suited to:
✅ Normal to dry skin
✅ Those with sparse brows who still want definition
✅ Clients who want the softness of hair strokes with the structure of shading
What to Expect During Healing
Your brows will go through a few changes after your tattoo appointment — and that’s completely normal! The initial healing phase lasts around 7–10 days, and the colour will continue to settle over the next few weeks.
Immediately After Your Appointment:
Your brows will appear much darker and more defined than the final healed result. This intensity can be a bit of a shock at first, but don’t worry — this is completely temporary. About 2 hours after your treatment, gently wipe your brows with a damp cotton round, pat dry with tissue, and apply your first layer of healing cream.
Days 1–7: The Healing Phase
- Apply your healing balm 3–4 times a day using a cotton tip
- Always wipe away old cream with a dry cotton round or tissue before applying a fresh layer
- Do not use your fingers to apply balm
- Avoid all makeup, cleansers, water, swimming, spas, and sun exposure on the treated area
Around days 3–4, your brows will start to flake — this is part of the normal healing process. Please do not pick or scratch the area.
Mild itching is normal — it’s a sign your skin is healing. Just apply a bit more cream if needed for comfort.
Week 2–4: Colour Settles In
Once the flaking is done, your brows may appear much lighter — sometimes even patchy. This is also normal! Over the next 2–3 weeks, the pigment will begin to resurface as the skin regenerates.
By week 3 or 4, you’ll start to see your true, healed colour — much softer and more natural than how they looked straight after the appointment.
Pro Tips for Long-Lasting Results
- Don’t rush the healing — let your skin do its thing
- Avoid picking, exfoliating, or applying active skincare near the brows while healing
- Once healed, apply SPF daily to protect your tattoo from fading
